Spelling - the test for the review of -er, -est, and -ing words will be on Tuesday, June 1. The word list is below:

Social Studies - We have now moved into the study of a market economy. We are preparing to do a special "Market Day" project with Mrs. VanBuren's class. Here is a list of possible items that students could sell at Market Day. (Please remember that these items will not be returned, so be sure they are items you can part with.) Locker cleaning certificates, desk cleaning certificates, word search puzzles or coloring sheets, jewelry, trading cards, bookmarks, marbles, school supplies, handmade greeting cards, cat's cradle yarn games, slightly used toys, etc. No food items please. Students also made a list in class that you could ask for.
Science - In our life science unit we will discover biomes, adaptations and survival of organisms. Students have been given guidelines for a biome project and oral report that is due on May 27. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Grammar, Speaking and Listening) - In Reading, we are going through the themed units of Open Court. We will continue with our study of the parts of speech in Language. In writing and speaking, students will present their biome oral reports to the class on May 27 and 28. Speeches should be practiced at home.
Math - We will be working with geometry and in particular: angles, line segments and geometric shapes.
Madison Academy field day will be on Friday, June 4.
